Caramelised Apple Cake

Have you heard of or tried a caramelised apple cake before? If you haven’t you should!

First off, the middle of the cake consists of nice caramelised apples and then it’s topped off with caramel over it.

Optional: can add raisins, rum or cinnamon.

Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180C.

  3. Peel 2 apples and dice them. Put them into a small saucepan and start cooking at medium heat.Caramelised Apple Cake (2 of 23)
  4. Put 2 teaspoons of sugar into the saucepan.Caramelised Apple Cake (3 of 23)
  5. When the apples are caramelised and soft, leave them to coolCaramelised Apple Cake (4 of 23)
  6. Put the eggs and sugar into the mixing bowl.Caramelised Apple Cake (5 of 23)
  7. Beat the mixture until it’s slightly foamy and a lighter color.Caramelised Apple Cake (6 of 23)
  8. Melt the margarine in a medium saucepan or alternatively in the microwave for about 1min30secs.

  19. Bake for 50 mins until a thin skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.Caramelised Apple Cake (19 of 23)
  20. Prepare a caramel into a saucepan with water, sugar and margarine.Caramelised Apple Cake (18 of 23)
